Yes, this is a significant mission for many reasons. Our Holy Quran is the book of Allah that was sent to guide us. Another remarkable purpose to learn Tajweed is to preserve the Arabic language, the Quran language. Recitation of the Holy Quran using Tajweed rules keeps the pronunciation and the meanings of the ayat.

 وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلًا [ المزّمِّل: 4]

Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style

وَرَتَّلْنَاهُ تَرْتِيلًا ( الفرقان:32)
and We have arranged it in right order.

الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَتْلُونَهُ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِ أُولَئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ (البقرۃ:121)

Those to whom We have given the Book, and who recite it as it ought to be read, truly believe in it;
